Formal Partnership Agreement
Australian Government Department of Education
The Australian Government Department of Education signed a Formal Partnership Agreement with SNAICC – National Voice for our Children and the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Corporation (NATSIEC) on 5 March 2025 and 7 March 2025, respectively.
The agreements aim to transform the way the department works with SNAICC and NATSIEC to improve education outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families, from early childhood to higher education.
Each agreement recognises the strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and cultures, acknowledging the importance of working in partnership to reform and enrich education systems. The partnerships build on commitments to achieve socio-economic outcomes and embed Closing the Gap Priority Reforms under the National Agreement to improve progress against education targets.
SNAICC and NATSIEC advise the Australian Government on strategies and actions to advocate and influence change with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. These exciting partnerships affirm both SNAICC and NATSIEC will share decision-making with the department on initiatives affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and their families.
